About Us

Dale H. Lundstrom and John R. Goostree founded Joplin Building Material Company (JBM) in April 1963. JBM has established and maintained a reputation for excellence in manufacturing and customer service. The true meaning of "customer first" is upheld to its highest degree. From the very start, JBM desired to build a business based on quality, service, fairness, and friendliness. Our advertising strategy consisted of "word of mouth" and nothing more.

JBM specializes in the manufacturing of concrete masonry units utilizing an automated batching system and the highest quality raw materials available in the area. Our commitment to quality manufacturing is reinforced by our newest manufacturing addition, a 2000 Model 16 Columbia Block Machine.

In addition to block, JBM is the area dealer for more than ten different brick companies, thus providing a full range of masonry products for Joplin and the surrounding communities. In September 1998 we opened Springfield Brick Company and created the first Boral Brick Studio in Missouri. This elegant way to show brick has increased the quality service we provide to our customers in the Four State Area.
