Kent has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Tarkio College. He has Twenty-two years of construction experience as an engineer officer with the Missouri Army National Guard. He retired as a Major with the 35th Engineer Brigade. He is an active member and deacon at Northside Baptist Church.
