With the weather today, I would never guess that it was still summer. As it is my last week as Joplin Building Material’s intern, my summer is drawing to a close. After two months, I finally have a grasp on half of what goes on here. I have learned so much about concrete block and building material sales. Looking back over the last two months, I can identify three of the things that makes JBM such a great place to work.
The knowledge held by each member of the JBM team comes from years of work and learning. Many employees have been here for over 20 years. These guys know the job; anyone can trust them and their word.
JBM prides itself on excellent customer service - something that I’m passionate about. I enjoy coming into to JBM every morning because I get to make another person's day better.
The people make the place. This is true at JBM, where everyone takes care of each other. Walking in the door, I’m always greeted with a cheerful “Good morning!” We celebrate each others' birthdays. We share in the difficult work. We care about each other, and everyone here is family.
There is no real way that I can express my gratitude for the opportunity to work at JBM this summer. Thank you to Joplin Building Material and everyone involved.
Don’t worry! The blog won’t stop here. I’ve written a few more blog posts to be posted in the next few months. Watch out for more JBMonday posts!
